Why Do I need Managed Services?


For all new clients and for the already existing clients it is ideal if an Outpost24 Outscan® and/or HIAB® license is combined with a Lab106 Managed Services subscription. The client decides how much of the workload of using Outscan® and/or HIAB® he will do himself and how much of the workload will be handled by Lab106 (Managed Service Level Agreement).

The Managed Service Level Agreement will be tailor-made for every client.

Installation of scanning tools and User Interface (UI) training OUTSCAN®/HIAB®.

  • The Outpost24 tools (OUTSCAN®/HIAB®) will be installed and tested.
  • The main users will receive UI and tooling training.


Implementation of OUTSCAN®/HIAB® within the organization.

  • Calibrating of Outscan®/HIAB®. Testing is done on how targeted hosts and the network they are in, react on Outscan®/HIAB®'s vulnerability scans.
  • Making and executing a vulnerability scan plan. Together with the client the scope of regular vulnerability scanning will be set up. Which hosts will be scanned when and how often?
  • Setting up sub users and distribution of found risks to sub users.


The use of Outscan®/HIAB® is optimized within the organizational structure of the client. Together with the client the scope of regular vulnerability scanning will be set up and automated scanning will be put in place. The scan results are distributed in the organization. The client only has to deal with the vulnerability reports of Outscan®/HIAB®:

Report consultancy: The reports generated from Outscan® and/or HIAB® will be carefully interpreted by an Lab106 consultant. Found vulnerabilities will be verified and false positives will be identified. The client can be 'educated' on how risk is discovered.

Vulnerability Alerting: For Outscan® clients it's also possible to receive 'Lab106 Vulnerability Alerts'. A Lab106 consultant will check the technical reports of Outscan® on a regular basis and will alert the client via E-email or SMS in the event a high and/or medium risk is discovered

Report analyses and 'Executive Report' writing.
Lab106 can you provide you with two different reports:

  • Executive Report: The client receives regular (monthly, every other month, quarterly or every six months) 'executive reports' written by Lab106 based on the output of the technical Outscan®/HIAB® reports. These reports contain hands on solutions and suggested ICT security measurements. The risk analyses is based on the output of OUTSCAN®/HIAB® and the input (wishes) of the client. The 'executive report' is an overview of found risks in the technical reports of Outscan® and/or HIAB®. Lab106 writes reports in 'non-technical' easy to read 'normal' language.

  • Technical Workbook: (XLS format) This is a workbook for the technical staff of the customer. The purpose of this workbook is to gain a better understanding of the Vulnerability Management policy within your company. These reports contain technical risk analyses based on the output of OUTSCAN®/HIAB® and the input (wishes) of the client. The 'executive report' is an overview of found risks in the technical reports of OUTSCAN® and/or HIAB®. These reports will be carefully interpreted, found vulnerabilities will be verified and false positives identified.
